The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Invertis University, organized a guest lecture on 26th September 2025 at Room No. The session featured our eminent speaker, Dr. Manendra Singh Chauhan, Department of Chemistry, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) who completed his Ph. D in Computational Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
Dr. Manendra Singh Chauhan delivered an inspiring lecture on the topic:
“Introduction of Computational Chemistry: From Molecules to Materials.”
The event commenced with the token of gratitude by the esteemed presence of Prof. P. P. Singh, Dean Sciences along with Dr. S. K Jain, Head, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities.
During the lecture, Dr. Chauhan shared valuable insights into leveraging academic learning, research opportunities, and skill development to build a successful career in the field of Computational Chemistry.
Moreover, Dr. Chauhan added some facts regarding computational chemistry that computational chemistry uses computational methods and algorithms to study the structure, properties, and reactivity of molecules. It aims to understand chemical phenomena at the atomic and molecular level. Computational chemistry accelerates discovery and innovation in various fields, including drug developments, materials science, and environment chemistry. By reducing the need for experimental trial-and-error, it saves time and resources.
The lecture was highly appreciated by the students, who actively participated in the interactive session. They expressed that the session not only provided academic guidance but also practical perspectives on professional growth.
