ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) is a four-year professional degree programme of teacher education offered after senior secondary.

It aims to prepare teachers for the elementary stage of education, i.e. up to classes I to VIII. In addition, the programme prepares students for a wide range of professional and academic options in elementary education including teaching in elementary schools with special orientation for government schools; pursuing post-graduate and research studies in education and working as teacher educators in institutions and University departments offering programmes in elementary education.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with at least 50% marks in the senior secondary or its equivalent are eligible for admission. The reservation and relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other category shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/State Government whichever is applicable.

On the basis of Merit/IUCET/State-Level and National-Level Entrance Exams.

Apply the educational knowledge for identification and analysis of educational problems and reach out for solutions.

Develop interpersonal skills through a number of activities like classroom discussions, debates, and presentations of seminar topics by students followed by question-answer session etc.

Develop critical thinking skills through conceptualizing, analyzing, applying, and evaluating information collected from or created by experience, reflection, or observation during teaching-learning process.

Teaching Competency (PO-5)

Develop understanding of and select and use of learner-centric teaching methods, organizing learning experiences, and select and use of appropriate assessment strategies for facilitating learning.

Use of Modern Tools (PO-6)

Select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern ICT tools in the teaching-learning process.

Ethics (PO-7)

Develop an understanding of different values, morality, social service and accept responsibility towards the society.

Individual and Teamwork (PO-8)

Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings by following the principles of collaborative, cooperative learning and team teaching.

Communication Skill (PO-9)

Develop communication skills through presenting seminars before peer students and teachers and practicing communication skills through various activities and applying them for better classroom communication.

Subject Specification (PO-10)

Make use of subject specific pedagogical knowledge and skills for better classroom instruction and effective teaching-learning processes.

Holistic Development (PO-11)

Develop intellectual, mental, physical, emotional, and social abilities for facing the demands and challenges of everyday life leading to success in professional fields of work

Life-long Learning (PO-12)

Recognize the need for, and have the ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of educational change.

Foundational Teaching Skills: Develop foundational pedagogical skills to teach at the elementary level, emphasizing child-centered and play-based learning approaches.

(PSO-2)

Developmentally Appropriate Practices: Design and implement teaching practices that align with the cognitive, social, and emotional development stages of young learners, as per NEP 2020 recommendations.

(PSO-3)

Integration of Knowledge: Integrate subject knowledge of science/humanities and education to provide a strong foundation to future teachers
