Department of B.Com, Faculty of Management, Invertis University, Bareilly organized an Expert Talk on “Decoding Budget 2024 and Recent Amendments in Taxation” on 9th February, 2024 for the students of B.Com (H) and B.Com (1st year). A renowned Chartered Accountant of Bareilly CA Shivam Gupta was invited as guest speaker.
CA Gupta started the session with deliberation on what actually the meaning of budget and why it is so important. He also discussed the basic concepts of finance like direct & indirect taxes, capital & revenue expenditure etc.
During the session, he gave an insight about different statistics about budgeted and actual figures of fiscal deficit, direct and indirect tax collection and capital & revenue receipts. He also gave an overview regarding allocation of funds to different schemes and ministries in the Union Budget 2024. He also discussed the difference between New and Old Tax regime regarding Income Tax.
