Event Description:
Day 1
The Department of Fashion Design had organized a workshop on Sewing technology for the students of B.Sc.
Fashion Design. The workshop was presented by Mr. Vikas Bharadwaj, Product Incharge, UJ machines from Usha
International Ltd. He was assisted by three other team members.
The students were briefed about the different features and functioning of a manual sewing machine and its
comparison with new technology electronic sewing machines: range of USHA Janome machines. The students were
also acquainted with fully automatic embroidery machine, USHA Memory Craft. There was a question answer
round and a practice session for working on different electronic machines.
Day 2
The day initiated with an interactive session. The students were asked about the various problems faced
during stitching and these problems were resolved by the technician by showing live demonstrations.
Information regarding the maintenance of various types of sewing machines was also given. The attendees were
introduced to latest technology automatic sewing machine and its features and working were briefed. The
students were divided into groups for handling the automatic embroidery machine and the automatic sewing
machine.
